Projects

Here are some projects I am most proud of — I used a combination of my skills in Advertising and Emerging Media by using WordPress, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, UX/UI Design, XCode and more.

NewsNow

For my Capstone during my Emerging Media Master’s program, I worked with a group to create an app that challenges the way we receive traditional news. Our goal was to create a user-friendly app that will combat misinformation and attract the younger generation to want to follow the news in a fun way at the tap of their finger.

Connect ATL

I worked with a team to create an app that promotes mass transit around the city of Atlanta. We aimed to create a user-friendly one-stop shop mobile app for those who need to get around easily and encouraging them to reduce CO2 emissions by taking mass transit.

Food Finder

As a team, our goal was to create an app that would help solve the issue of food insecurity in our local community. Individuals are able to locate, deliver, or donate to others by using the Food Finder mobile app.

PlantPals

PlantPals is a one stop shop mobile app for all plant lovers. It encourages the plant community to engage and communicate, sell and trade, and even help keep track of the health of their plants.

Bad Moon

A mock-up website and brand kit for Bad Moon, a fictional coffee shop and bar, created by using Canva’s website feature. This is a revamped idea based off of previous projects I had worked on during my Advertising and Emerging Media degrees.

It’s Foodie Day

My Instagram food blog, ItsFoodieDay, was created to show my love for food. I aim to take photos of food in an appealing way and write reviews and captions that will entice my audience.

I usually create posts that highlight local restaurants in the Athens, Duluth or Atlanta area. I typically talk about the ambiance of the restaurant and describe the food in as much detail as I can. I’ll add relevant hashtags in order to attract more foot-traffic to my posts.

Cat’s Closet

Cat’s Closet is a small business that sells products such as personalized cups, wine glasses, mugs, trays, clothing apparel, and more. I work part-time as a Social Media Manager where I create graphics that promote events, vendors, and products. I also post on their social media platforms and stories as well as create exciting and appealing captions.

Cat’s Closet has pop-up shops throughout the year in Atlanta to sell their products and features other vendors. Below, you will see some of the work that I have been able to produce for them for the past year. I have helped with their branding, create flyers and social media posts. I used a mixture of Adobe Spark, Canva, and occasionally Adobe Photoshop.

Podcast Trailer

I created a trailer for a podcast called Black Girl Meets World. This podcast focuses on the trials and tribulations of being a Black girl. It’s about my personal experiences where I discuss topics like life at a PWI, what the dating scene is like for us Black girls, being bi-racial, micro-aggressions, and why you should never touch a Black girl’s hair.

UGA’s Professional Clothing Closet

I collaborated with a team to create a strategy plan for the University of Georgia’s Student Government Association Professional Clothing Closet. The Professional Clothing Closet provides free and professional clothing to students in need. Our team were able to put our skills together to create a brand kit, new logo, social media graphic templates, basic stock photos, and a posting schedule.

Graphic Designer and Videographer were my roles during this project. I was able to create over 30 graphics for the Professional Clothing Closet using Canva. I chose Canva because it allows easy collaboration with not only my team, but the Professional Clothing Closet’s team as well. Keeping the brand kit in mind, I used the new color palette we created for the organization throughout the graphics to make it look more cohesive. The colors came from UGA’s brand style guide, which the organization requested we pull from. As for the videos, I attended photo sessions and pop-up events with the organization to take candid videos. The videos will allow the organization to have its own stock media collection and use it throughout their social media platforms. Below are some examples of the graphics and video montages I created as well as our team’s final presentation.

Cali N Titos

Collaborating with a team, we created a brand campaign for a company of our choosing. We decided to choose Cali N Titos, a local Latin-American restaurant in Athens, GA. We analyzed their target market, created communication objectives for the brand, and designed integrated marketing communication pieces all within this booklet.
